Even the grandest of dames eventually needs a facelift - The Ritz Paris will reopen this June!

The Ritz Paris, an icon in the world of design and fine living, is reopening after an unprecedented restoration. The legendary hotel will unveil three restaurants, three bars including famed Bar Hemingway, and the Escoffier cooking school . The Spa will feature CHANEL skin care. Part of the allure of the Ritz was its clientele, Ernest Hemingway, MarcelProust, and Coco Chanel to drop a few names.... Perhaps they were the impetus for the inclusion of a secret tunnel for private guests.

When the Ritz Paris opened n 1898, electric lights and telephones were considered cutting-edge. - now it will feature fewer rooms and more suites, gorgeous gardens and terraces with retractable roofs and floor heating. . Times are a changing and being on point with them, makes daily living all the more comfortable and savvy.

When we at Casa Couture, take on a renovation project, we try to pay homage to the history and character of a home, while outfitting it with the best of today's advances. For example, an updated smart home, is for the ease of the client's daily patterns. We encourage our clients to get aquainted with the advances in the architectural & design world. New building materials not only are more efficient ,but save a great deal of construction time and can offer greater open interiors. New wall treatments can add instant character. Advances in fabric care have made it easier to opt for luxurious fabrics without the cost and care factor.

All in all, being able to renovate a fine old home; be it even the Ritz, can bring a great deal of innovation to a timeless classic! The incredible interior architect Thierry W Despont is overseeing the restoration.

June 1 is the first date when guests can make reservations on the hotel’s Web site. Prices for a room start at $1,312. Bear in mind, the Hotel is booked for Paris Fashion Week, but I would recommend staying there for Bastille Day -July 14th when you can truly enjoy Paris at its finest jovial self!

For futher reading on this subject, I highly recommened the fascinating book bt Tilar J. Mazzeo, titled: The Hotel on Place Vendome.
